Your visit, explained.

This site does not use advertising scripts, cookies, or embedded third-party content. It has no contact form and does not ask visitors to submit personal information. When you choose a language, we try to save only its code in this browser’s local storage under japanza.language, so a return visit to the root page opens that edition. This preference is not sent to a server. It remains until you use “Choose language / reset preference” or clear this site’s browser data. If storage is unavailable, language links still work; direct links to editions and articles are never redirected.

The hosting provider may process connection information, such as IP addresses and request logs, to deliver and secure the site.

We use free Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure visits, page views and performance. The beacon sends the page URL, referrer, page-load information and browser/device details to Cloudflare; reports can be grouped by country.

The analytics beacon uses no cookies or browser storage and does not identify unique individuals or track people across websites. Visits are arrivals from another site or a direct link, not an exact count of unique people. Script blockers may prevent measurement. Our own test visits are included.
